From a girl’s dormitory to a meeting centre

In 1968, the predecessor organisation of today’s meeting centre was founded under the same name – Foyer le Pont.

Foyer Le Pont Foyer Le Pont

The Foyer le Pont was used for the supervision of young protestant women from Germany, who worked as Au-Pair girls in Paris. Later it was also opened to women of other nationalities and religions. The former girl’s dormitory was founded by the Rhenish Association for Inner Mission, the Christchurch in Paris and the Association for International Youth Work.

In February 1998, the house was passed over to its today’s purpose as the European meeting centre of the Protestant Churches in Europe. Today it is a bridge between people of different protestant churches in Europe. The Foyer le Pont supports the ecumenical dialogue and is open for interested groups as well as individual travellers.
